I am so excited to share my very first pod cast with all of you! Not only because it was so much fun to record, but I have been a fan of the Lose The Cape blog for a long time! I interviewed with co-creator Alexa Bigwarfe who is a funny, busy mom to three kids. Alexa is also a published author, an advocate for women and families, AND we share a lot in common with our motherhood philosophy- there is no such thing as perfect!
Thank you Alexa for making this a really fun experience! I hope all of you enjoy listening as much I enjoyed recording this!
Feel free to comment below about the pod cast, or leave some tips on calming the chaos of a busy life!
Alexa Bigwarfe is a freelance writer and author. Alexa co-authored the book “Lose the Cape: Realities from Busy Modern Moms and Strategies to Survive” (losethecape.com) published in Spring 2015. Her #losethecape philosophy as a mom is based on the idea that we are all doing the best that we can as moms, and should be encouraged in motherhood. She also edited and published a book for grieving mothers entitled “Sunshine After the Storm: A Survival Guide for the Grieving Mother” and has been published in several anthologies, including “The Mother of All Meltdowns,” and “The HerStories Project,” and “Mothering Through the Darkness.” She launched her writing with the the blog No Holding Back, as an outlet for her grief after the loss of one of her twin daughters to Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). She can be followed on Facebook and Twitter (@katbiggie).
The Whatever Mom is a twin mom learning to let go of perfection. She shares her real life struggles with parenting through her blog and contributes her time and talents as a writer to Hudson Valley Parent and Masshole Mommy. When she isn’t writing you can find her chugging coffee, folding laundry and not judging other parents. Don’t forget to subscribe via email so you never miss a blog post again! You can also find her work featured on Mamapedia
Wow! This is quite an achievement. I love that you had a great time making this podcast as well. Here’s to more podcasts in the future.
Thanks! If so enjoy doing another!
How exciting – congrats. I will listen to the whole thing once the kids are in bed and I have some peace and quiet around here 😉
What is peace and quiet? ????
Congratulations! I have saved it for listening when I am on my way to work (a two hour drive!) I am looking forward to it now!
Awesome! Hope you enjoy!
Wow, and congratulations! I had never heard of this podcast before but what a cool thing to discover! I’ll be listening to it regularly!
I’ll have to give this a listen. I listen to podcasts all day when I work and this looks like a good one!
It’s so neat you featured a blogger! I liked learning more about who she is.
How thrilling for you to do this podcast! Congrats. I hope you continue to make and enjoy them!
This was a fun podcast to listen to. I haven’t done this yet because I have no clue where to start, but it is something I’ve considered doing.
I stumbled up on it…otherwise I would never have thought to do one.
Bahahaaha I swear my friend and I have both told our kids to stop being assholes too. Eeek sorry not sorry lol. But really what is up with kids sometimes, perfect angels for other people and terrors at home. Mine aren’t really that terrible lol, they just know how to push my buttons.
so exciting! Congratulations on your first podcast, you sounded like a natural, what a great progression
Awe thanks for listening!!
This is so exciting! Congrats Roxanne, I loved listening to it.
Congrats. I’m a huge oodcast junkie and have always wondered what would be like to create my own or be a guest.
Congrats, I’m pretty sure I would stink at doing podcast, you are a total natural. I have recently started to really enjoy podcast, they are the perfect thing to listen to while I do household chores or while driving.
I think I never realized the beauty of putting a pod cast on as I am working! That’s a great idea!
I love the title! I want to read the book AND download the podcast:)
Congrats on your first podcast! I think they would be easier than videos to do, but I haven’t given one a try yet. I need to though!!
Thankfully she didn’t include the video portion, just the audio. I think that scared me more!
Congratulations for your first Podcast! I listened to it and love how flow the interview is. Your’re natural and I love your honesty. Awesome!

Congratulations! I have been trying to convince my husband to start a podcast on one of our blogs, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Congratulations on the pod cast! I find them pretty intimidating but I’m so glad you had fun doing it.
Thanks! Definitely intimidating. That’s why I was talking so fast!! I talk REALLY fast when I’m nervous. LOL
Congrats!!! I just love pod cast!!! I love listening to them when I’m cleaning and even driving the kiddo around town
